J&rsquo;avais d\u00e9couvert un site Internet de r\u00e9alisation d&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire cycliste, <a title=\"bikemap.net\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bikemap.net\" target=\"_blank\">bikemap.net<\/a>. \u00ab Super \u00bb, me suis-je dit, \u00ab et vive 2012 \u00bb. Jamais je n&rsquo;aurais vu \u00e7a en 2005 lors de ma travers\u00e9e du Canada. Je me suis aussit\u00f4t mis \u00e0 tracer l&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire parcouru \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9poque (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bikemap.net\/route\/1489224\" target=\"_blank\">voir ici<\/a>) et je peux enfin d\u00e9montrer que les Prairies, elles ne sont pas si plates! Ce site l\u00e0 est tellement bien fait qu&rsquo;il fait \u00e9viter les grosses autoroutes lorsqu&rsquo;on trace un itin\u00e9raire et une fois celui-ci compl\u00e9t\u00e9, il g\u00e9n\u00e8re un graphique pr\u00e9sentant la courbe d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation du parcours.<\/p>\n<p>J&rsquo;\u00e9tais donc curieux de voir ce qui m&rsquo;attendait, histoire de me faire peur un peu, et j&rsquo;ai trac\u00e9 ce qu&#8217;empruntera fort probablement CycloExpedition Americas dans les prochains mois. Voici les r\u00e9sultats ci-bas, sur 7 cartes, car eh oui, en plus, ce site permet d&rsquo;importer les cartes sur un site Internet externe.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>J&rsquo;ai pu constater que j&rsquo;avais bien \u00e9valu\u00e9 la distance totale, qui se chiffre selon ces cartes \u00e0 \u00a026 237,6 km. Par exemple, pour la section P\u00e9rou et Bolivie, cela repr\u00e9sente 81 560 m\u00e8tres. Le total d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation pour toute l&rsquo;exp\u00e9dition est de pr\u00e8s de 350 000 m\u00e8tres, donc 350 kilom\u00e8tres, soit, pour se le figurer un peu mieux (ou encore moins), 40 fois l&rsquo;altitude du Mont Everest ! Au moins, le dicton \u00ab tout ce qui monte doit redescendre \u00bb s&rsquo;appliquera&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Il est ainsi facile de calculer le ratio d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation par kilom\u00e8tre. Aux \u00c9tats-Unis, bien que je serai en plus haute altitude qu&rsquo;au Canada, je monterai moins (7,3 m\/km vs 9,9 m\/km). La section la plus ardue sera la Colombie et l&rsquo;\u00c9quateur, avec 27,1 m\/km. Pour se repr\u00e9senter la moyenne totale de 13,3 m\/km, on pourrait dire que, s&rsquo;il n&rsquo;y avait pas les al\u00e9as de la g\u00e9ographie, ce voyage ne serait qu&rsquo;un faux-plat ascendant de plus de 13 000 km \u00e0 2,66 %, suivi d&rsquo;un faux-plat descendant identique&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Heureusement que ce voyage ne sera pas qu&rsquo;une suite statistique!<\/p>\n<p>Voici donc les cartes:<\/p>\n<p>(Mise \u00e0 jour: les cartes \u00e9tant utilis\u00e9es et modifi\u00e9es ult\u00e9rieurement pour des articles-bilan sur les pays travers\u00e9s, les donn\u00e9es avec le tableau ci-dessus peuvent diff\u00e9rer)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Canada<\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 2px;
