Si de plus en plus d&rsquo;articles se retrouvent en ligne sur comment voyager \u00e0 v\u00e9lo \u00e0 Cuba, ce qui suit se veut plut\u00f4t une inspiration, expliquant les meilleures exp\u00e9riences sur la route afin de vous aider \u00e0 construire votre propre aventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voici une carte interactive de l&rsquo;itin\u00e9raire parcouru, avec en jaune, ce que je qualifie comme mes 5 meilleures journ\u00e9es:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1AkzZgFWMpX6K1A4ad-WmkQCFCI4Rf66k\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>#5: Topes de Collante et Sierra d&rsquo;Escambray, \u00e0 l&rsquo;ouest de Trinidad<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si la mont\u00e9e est brutale en prenant la route vers Topes de Collante quelques kilom\u00e8tres apr\u00e8s Trinidad, une fois en haut, la route qui suit la cr\u00eate des montagnes est tout \u00e0 fait sublime. Topes de Collante s&rsquo;est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 en un centre touristique pour la client\u00e8le de Trinidad, avec des prix plut\u00f4t \u00e9lev\u00e9 pour visiter des (par contre) impresionantes cascades comme Vegas Grande. \u00c0 l&rsquo;ouest de Topes, c&rsquo;est toutefois le calme plat sur des routes ondulantes pav\u00e9es bien tranquilles. La Sierra de Gran Piedra m&rsquo;a offert un joli d\u00e9fi de montagne, sur une petite route de terre longeant d&rsquo;abord une vall\u00e9e, puis montant sinueusement jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 arriver \u00e0 un petit village juch\u00e9. Si l&rsquo;oeuvre d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie doit \u00e9pater, l&rsquo;alternative que nous avons prise consistant \u00e0 prendre la route faisant le tour de la pointe de l&rsquo;\u00eele n&rsquo;a pas du tout d\u00e9\u00e7u, au contraire. En une longue journ\u00e9e, de Baracoa \u00e0 Cajobabo, on parcourt toute une palette de couleurs et de terrains sur une route pav\u00e9e. Le c\u00f4t\u00e9 nord, verdoyant, offre un d\u00e9fi de collines successives. Les <em>mogotes<\/em>, ces collines de calcaires aux formes particuli\u00e8res, et la terre rouge\u00e2tre caract\u00e9ristique de cette partie de l&rsquo;\u00eele, attirent d\u00e9finitivement l\u2019\u0153il. Les routes tranquilles environnantes sont franchement agr\u00e9ables \u00e0 p\u00e9daler, sans trop de gain d&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e9vation. Cette route c\u00f4ti\u00e8re, qui s&rsquo;est fait \u00e0 quelques endroits manger par la mer, puis r\u00e9par\u00e9e sommairement, n&rsquo;a pratiquement pas de traffic. Parfois dramatique, parfois paradisiaque, cette route est franchement satisfaisante. Quelques kilom\u00e8tres avant Chivirico, il ne faut pas manquer Cayo Damas, une <em>casa particular<\/em> sur une toute petite \u00eele, o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on embarque les v\u00e9los sur le p\u00e9dalo du proprio pour aller s&rsquo;y h\u00e9berger. \u00c0 la fin de la journ\u00e9e, on a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 se trouver un endroit sur une plage \u00e0 l&rsquo;abri des regards pour camper. La route est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pav\u00e9e, sauf certains segments coinc\u00e9s entre mer et montagne. Les Canadiens, quant \u00e0 eux, ont 90 jours \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e, \u00e9galement renouvelable. Autant en profiter, plut\u00f4t que de passer juste une semaine dans un tout-inclus!<\/li><li>Du Canada, il y a une panoplie de <strong>vols<\/strong> en hiver (et d&rsquo;une certaine mesure en automne et au printemps) qui rejoignent d&rsquo;autres villes que La Havane, comme Holgu\u00edn, o\u00f9 j&rsquo;ai commenc\u00e9, mais aussi Santiago de Cuba, Manzanillo, Matanzas&#8230; des villes o\u00f9 l&rsquo;on retrouve pas trop loin de l\u00e0 des resorts tout-inclus. Si de chez soi, il est relativement facile de se trouver une bo\u00eete, soit dans un magasin de v\u00e9lo ou soit au service cargo des compagnies d&rsquo;autobus interurbains, ce n&rsquo;est pas du tout la m\u00eame chose du c\u00f4t\u00e9 cubain. Si l&rsquo;on voit des v\u00e9los partout \u00e0 Cuba, il n&rsquo;y a pas grand monde qui vend des v\u00e9los neufs, ayant ainsi des bo\u00eetes. \u00c0 La Havane, nous avons d\u00fb courir les magasins, march\u00e9s et conteneurs \u00e0 d\u00e9chet pour trouver des cartons. Le ruban adh\u00e9sif large ne se trouve pas dans les magasins d&rsquo;\u00e9tat, mais dans les petits commerce de quincaillerie de base. Bref, pr\u00e9voir une journ\u00e9e compl\u00e8te pour l&rsquo;aventure. Si vous repartez de la m\u00eame ville, promettez \u00e0 la <em>casa particular<\/em> ou h\u00f4tel qui vous h\u00e9berge de revenir y passer une nuit pour qu&rsquo;ils gardent v\u00f4tre bo\u00eete. Sinon, l&rsquo;option de laisser votre v\u00e9lo \u00e0 Cuba est aussi une option. Plusieurs viendront p\u00e9daler \u00e0 Cuba avec un v\u00e9lo qu&rsquo;ils d\u00e9sireront laisser sur place \u00e0 quelqu&rsquo;un qui en aura besoin.<\/li><li>\u00c0 noter que le<strong> camping sauvage<\/strong> est th\u00e9oriquement interdit. Assurez-vous de ne pas \u00eatre vu, mais la plupart des locaux s&rsquo;en fout. Plusieurs ne voyagent pas avec leur \u00e9quipement de camping, mais la tente et le sac de couchage nous ont d\u00e9pann\u00e9 \u00e0 quelques reprises, comme nous ne planifions pas tout en avance. Sachez aussi qu&rsquo;un habitant qui vous h\u00e9berge sans qu&rsquo;il soit une <em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Casa_particular\">casa particular<\/a> <\/em>officielle court un risque. Soyez discret si on vous offre un toit.<\/li><li>L&rsquo;<strong>argent<\/strong> et la double monnaie peut parfois porter \u00e0 confusion. N&rsquo;amenez pas des dollars am\u00e9ricains pour changer une fois rendu \u00e0 Cuba, car il sont frapp\u00e9s d&rsquo;une taxe de 10%. Bien qu&rsquo;il y ait un march\u00e9 noir pour changer les USD \u00e0 meilleur taux, il peut \u00eatre plus simple de changer l\u00e9galement au <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cadeca.cu\/en\/\">r\u00e9seau Cadeca<\/a> des dollars canadiens ou des euros. Si le touriste standard ne manipulera que le <em>peso convertible <\/em>(CUC), \u00e9quivalent au dollar am\u00e9ricain, ceux et celles voyageant \u00e0 v\u00e9lo doivent se familiariser avec le <em>peso cubano<\/em> (CUP), qui vaut 50 fois moins et qui permettra d&rsquo;acc\u00e9der \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie de proximit\u00e9 des Cubains. Cette double \u00e9conomie am\u00e8ne d&rsquo;\u00e9normes distorsion dans la valeur de ce que l&rsquo;on trouve \u00e0 acheter dans un petit village versus un endroit touristique, et \u00e9viter de comparer les deux syst\u00e8mes \u00e9vitera bien des frustrations.
